The PLAY Project

The PLAY Project is parent-mediated autism intervention model where a child development expert provides services to both the child and parents/caregivers.  Parents/caregivers learn techniques and activities so they can support their child’s social-emotional growth during everyday activities.  This approach empowers parents and gives children intervention at a high intensity level.  PLAY Autism Intervention is one of several parent-mediated approaches; however, the PLAY autism Intervention model has undergone one of the largest and most rigorous research studies of its kind.

OT Kids
"Using the DIR/Floortime Model, my work is considered Best Practice and is empirically supported. The best teacher for a child is his or her parents and/or primary caregiver. Typically, parents and I collaborate to understand the developmental picture of your child. Because we want the child to learn, master skills, and raise the bar on their development, we focus intervention on learning within the relationship with you, the parent" (Gold, 2017).
